In the name of the Moon, let’s be Pretty Guardians!🌙

For Love and Justice, the pretty sailor-suited soldier—Sailor Moon!—is commencing her official fan club: Pretty Guardians!

They have planned a variety of member-only services, such as invitations to character birthday events and advance sale of tickets to the Sailor Moon musical. According to the Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary Project Official Site, member-exclusive benefits include:

  • A membership card using an illustration-reprint from the Nakayoshi magazine
  • A memorabile—Transformation Brooch Make Up Lip Gloss
  • Sailor Moon musical ticket pre-sales
  • Newsletters
  • Original merchandise, such as replications of popular Nakayoshi supplement items
  • Exclusive contents on the Sailor Moon official app

To commemorate the launch of the fan club, an inauguration will be held on April 10th, at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. Performing guests include 三石琴乃 (Kotono Mitsuishi; voice of Sailor Moon), 野島健児 (Kenji Nojima; voice of Tuxedo Mask), 堀江美都(Mitsuko Horie; voice of Sailor Galaxia), and ももいろクローバーZ (Momoiro Clover Z, or Momoclo; theme song artists for the first 2 seasons of Sailor Moon Crystal). Pretty Guardians attending the event will receive their membership cards and memorabilia at the ceremony.

To participate in the inauguration, you need to register for the fan club by March 31st 18:00 JST. Otherwise, the regular member recruitment period is April 10th–June 30th, with a membership fee of ¥5,500 (before tax).

Eager to be a Pretty Guardian but don’t know Japanese? Worry not, I’ve written up a step-by-step guide to walk you through the registration process! Please note that the fan club is part of the 20th anniversary project, so it’s expected to be a limited time establishment till June 30th, 2017.

For address, it doesn’t matter what postal code you enter, as long as it’s in the form of 3 digits followed by 4 digits. I’d prefer my address on the account to be as accurate as possible though (except for the prefecture because I don’t live in Japan). Additionally, here’s a list of Japanese prefectures if you’d like to know what they are in English.

  9. Et voilà! You’re officially a Pretty Guardian!
ConfirmationYes I put Strawberry as my surname ❤ And 001257 is my membership number 😉

Again, if you aren’t attending the inauguration, it’s better to register after March 31st, paying a membership fee of ¥5,500 (before tax). They will send out the membership cards and memorabilia to those Pretty Guardians in May. Hence I’d have my address on the account as similar to my actual address as possible, in case they actually mail them to me!

Hope this post helps you or any Moonies you know who really want to be a Pretty Guardian! It’s surprisingly time-consuming to translate and transcribe the entire registration process. This post has taken me days to complete, but it’s worth it to blog about one of my favourite things and to keep Moonies up to date!

In the name of the Moon, share this post & spread the love under the Moonlight!
